Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) leader and MLA Pallavi Patel announced her decision not to cast her vote in the Rajya Sabha polls against the Samajwadi Party's choice of candidates, Jaya Bachchan and Alok Ranjan. Patel cited dissatisfaction with the candidates not being part of the "picchde, Dalit, and alpsankhyak" (backward, Dalit, and minority) category, referred to by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav as PDA.
