by Lone Sheep Publishing on Wednesday Apr 07 2021 RCMP said a fulsome review of each of those incidents has allowed GIS investigators to confirm those contacts were in fact carried out by a uniformed police officer. RCMP said in a media release Wednesday, recent traffic stops in the Lumby area in the North Okanagan were indeed made by an officer, and not a a suspected police impersonator. RCMP issued a rare public notification and plea for vigilance surrounding a suspected police impersonation incident on March 21, 2021 in the Boundary region, that led to four additional motorists coming forward with encounters outside of Lumby just a week prior.
