Remembering a hero: Funeral services held for volunteer firefighter killed in Spring Valley fire

It was an emotional goodbye Saturday for friends, family and
colleagues of volunteer firefighter Jared Lloyd, who lost his life while saving
others during a massive fire at a Rockland County assisted living facility last
month.
Fire officials say Lloyd, 35, made multiple saves during the
blaze at Evergreen Court Living Facility, but did not make it out. He was a
father to two young boys and served with the Spring Valley Volunteer Fire
Department for 15 years – joining after graduating high school.
