WHETHER it was the pantomime at Wiggins, or a children’s party at Saunders Valve, hundreds of people have been reminiscing about their memories of Christmas. The Hereford Amateur Pantomime Society (HAPS) was set up in 1982 by members remaining from the disbanded Wiggins panto group. In the We Grew Up In Hereford group on Facebook, which now has nearly 8,000 members, Patricia Jones remembered: “I was a ‘Wiggins’ baby! The parties were brilliant, so were the pantos when you were a little older. “If you sang on stage you would be given a box of Liquorice All Sorts. I was up there at every opportunity. My dad worked in the melting for many years. His name was Ivor Mahoney. We have, sadly, lost him.
