Reno County Veterans Memorial now features 14,000 names on newly-hung granite panels After seven years of hard work, the Reno County Veterans Memorial is nearly complete. A committee of community representatives jumped at the chance to devote a plot of land along Highway 50, at 209 W Des Monies Ave. in South Hutchinson, to memorializing area veterans. On Thursday, the group watched as 56 granite slabs were hung, bearing 14,000 names of veterans in all U.S. military branches from the Civil War to the present with ties to the county. "It's been seven years in the process," said committee member Kelly Danyluk. "There's been lots of fundraising and planning," he said.
