State Representative for House District 40, Barry Crago, attended the recent Buffalo City Council meeting to discuss his first legislative session after successfully being elected last November. Crago said he was pleased the legislature had passed the budget, although he was disappointed they could not reach an agreement on school funding. One positive thing he highlighted was the passing of Senate File 60, which changed the way ad valorem taxes on mineral production were to be collected, moving to a monthly collection as opposed to twice a year, as previously done. Other items he touched on were agriculture, health, charter schools and personal property taxes.
