South Korean researchers and emergency services are working on artificial intelligence that can detect suicide attempts from CCTV cameras and alert authorities before the occurrence of a mishap, according to a Reuters report.

South Korea, with a population of 52 million had the highest rate of suicide in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development group of nations. In 2019 alone, 13,700 people took their lives, as per government data. 
In fact, nearly 500 suicide attempts are reported on 27 bridges over the 500 kilometres long Han river each year, as per city-data.
