Massive queues at Gold Coast COVID-19 testing sites have left elderly locals fainting after waiting for more than six hours in extreme heat. Residents waiting in line at the Robina Hospital coronavirus clinic were subject to searing heat with temperatures peaking at 31C in the coastal city on Tuesday. Currumbin local Virginia Boniface spent more than seven hours waiting for a COVID test after coming into contact with Sydneysiders in the wake of the Northern Beaches outbreak. She told Gold Coast Bulletin while staff were helpful, the testing site needed improvements to look after patients in long and hot waiting lines.
