Sophia Frazer Binns Shadow Minister of Land, Environment and Climate Change, the People's National Party’s (PNP) Senator Sophia Frazer Binns is urging the Government to rethink its plans to use existing sugar lands in Trelawny for housing. “Food security must be central to any decision made about the use of prime agricultural lands,” remarked Frazer Binns in a statement on Wednesday. “The lands which the government is planning to use for housing developments are some of Jamaica’s best for food production. These most fertile lands are essential to any strategy to ensure that Jamaica successfully navigates major crises such as the currently evolving COVID 19 pandemic,” Frazer Binns stated.
