Apr 21, 2021 County Sheriff A Richland County Sheriff’s deputy has been terminated following an off duty incident, which involved a Mansfield Police Officer. Deputy Eric Wendling was let go from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office last Friday, April 16th. According to records, Wendling and Mansfield PD officer Brittney Pennywitt, each were charged with assault for an incident that took place back in February. Pennywitt remains on administrative leave. Both are due in court in next month.
