The muddy waters of the great river have exceeded past their flood stages of 20-feet. As of Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service reports the Mississippi River at Grafton is at 20.64 feet. The river is higher in Alton at 23.21 feet. The forecast Friday morning shows the river decreasing to 19.90 feet in Grafton, and 20.70 feet in Alton. Newsletter signup
