Three crashes at Frenchpark junction Tuesday, August 03, 2021
Urgent action is required at the “dangerous junction along the N5 at Frenchpark” where three crashes took place last week, according to Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane. Deputy Kerrane said this week that for as long as she could remember there has been near-misses and accidents at this junction in Frenchpark. “There is a particularly bad blind spot for vehicles coming from the Castlerea Road turning either left or right onto the N5. “I believe the only infrastructure that will work here is traffic lights as I do not believe a roundabout, as had been mooted in the past will make the junction safer, in fact, it could make matters worse. With that, a roundabout will not deal with the blind spots,” she said.
