Rosemary Conley: How to boost your immunity in 28 days Being overweight and unfit is dangerous enough, even without the added risk of Covid – but it’s not too late to change 3 January 2021 • 6:00am During lockdown, Rosemary wrote a guide to boosting your immunity We all want to stay safe in these challenging times and it’s not too late to make a real difference to our immune system and increase our chances of surviving the potentially fatal Covid-19 pandemic – or other infections or viruses. And it’s easier than you think. While we are only too aware that the terrible coronavirus can hit anyone at any age, we are continually reminded that those most at risk from coronavirus are people who are overweight or obese (at the peak of the pandemic, 73 per cent of people admitted to ICU were overweight or obese and 80 per cent of deaths were among people over 70). Others at higher risk are those suffering from asthma, heart disease and diabetes or who have compromised immune systems. Alarming statistics emerging indicate that patients who were overweight or obese were twice as likely to lose their battle with Covid-19, so it is really important that we learn from this. But there is hope and that is what my new book, The 28-Day Immunity Plan, is all about.
