Version 12.0.0 for the Nintendo Switch firmware was rolled out by Nintendo recently. According to Nintendo themselves, this update only provided a fix for a rare situation that prevented automatic back up saving of data from occurring. "We fixed the issue with the save data backup feature, where in rare cases, the automatic backup of save data is interrupted if a communication error occurs during completion of the save data backup process."
However, it's now being reported by OatmealDome and Mike Heskin, known data-miners, that the updated code makes references to a new type of docking station, which is supposedly designed for a new Nintendo Switch model. "Aula is the codename for the new model," said OatmealDome on Twitter.
