May 6, 2021 Screenshot from day two of Forum, May 5, 2021 A two day forum regarding Santa Rosa Police action during the George Floyd Protests last year is over. During the second day, Santa Rosa Police Chief Ray Navarro and his staff highlighted changes they have implemented since the protests, including stricter rules for less-lethal munitions and a long-range sound system for dispersal orders. The department also said they were working on developing a compliance supervisor position which will monitor the deployment of force with large events. Santa Rosa’s Office of Community Engagement also presented relaying concerns from the public. Those concerns included increased police oversight and building a positive relationship between the police and the community.
