Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that around 10,000 police personnel in the state will face job losses until 2026 due to their substandard performance. Sarma justified the action by pointing out that the remaining 80% of the police force was effective in maintaining peace and preventing incidents of violence.
