SARTELL — The Sartell-St. Stephen school board passed a motion Thursday night to enter into negotiations with Mounds View Assistant Superintendent Jeffery Ridlehoover to lead the Sartell district as superintendent. The board selected Ridlehoover from three finalists including current Assistant Superintendent Kay Nelson and Albany Area Schools Superintendent Greg Johnson, who was interviewed on Thursday before the board's decision. In their final deliberations Thursday night, board members said they were impressed with Ridlehoover's work closing achievement gaps and solving equity issues at Mounds View, two fields the board hopes to make strides in in the coming years. During his final interview Monday, Ridlehoover answered questions from staff, students, community members and the board. He pointed to his work at Mounds View implementing individualized learning and taking a building-level approach to culture and climate as experience he could use at Sartell.
