The latest food/necessities drive coordinated by the town proved to be the most successful yet.
Volunteers who helped organize the drive at the Saugus Senior Center on March 6 were thrilled to see the amount of food and essential items that people dropped off.
Boxes overflowed with nonperishables, toiletries and other necessities that were brought to the Saugus United Parish Food Pantry and Senior Center. It was the fourth drive spearheaded by the Board of Selectmen and Town Manager Scott Crabtree.
“It was our biggest one by far,” Selectman Debra Panetta said. “I was overwhelmed by how much food was dropped off. People were so generous, it really touched my heart.”
