MY EDMONDS NEWS Posted: January 29, 2021 1472 Photographer Janine Harles was watching a seal on the beach Friday afternoon when she looked up and saw transient orcas just off of the Edmonds Fishing Pier. 11 Replies to “Scene in Edmonds: Sea life” Brent Tugby says: That is good news. The transient Orcas eat seals and sea lions that have over populated waters from Canada to into the Columbia River and its tributaries. Maybe they can teach the southern resident Orcas how to hunt and eat pedipods. Thank you for sharing. If so, so nice to see your name. That was me and my wife! We had been out cruising for about an hour and a half and on our way back to the marina we were definitely in the right place at the right time. Got some great amateur video of the orcas frolicking. We’re sure there were four, and possibly five. We’ve seen plenty of porpoises and sea lions out there, but this was our first time seeing orcas and it was incredible.
