Scituate Animal Shelter is getting creative for cat adoptions

Staff Reports
Ask any animal shelter and they will tell you summer is the absolute slowest time for adoptions. The Scituate Animal Shelter is very familiar with this phenomenon, and is reporting that the summer ‘slump’ is even worse this year due to the recent loosening of COVID restrictions. “People are really thinking about vacations and time off this year,” said SAS Executive Director Maryann Regan. “Many families who might be thinking about adopting a new pet have decided to wait until fall to start looking. It’s really hard because we have so many great pets waiting for homes right now, including a good number of great cats.”
