Composers and the musically adept could now view their music in a more traditional form. This has been possible in other DAWs, but it was brilliant to see it implemented here, and it looked great and seemed to work well albeit with a somewhat limited set of editing tools. There were a number of things missing but probably the most obvious was the ability to print. This seemed remarkably odd to me, and so I moaned about it in my review of Studio One 5. Now, I’m not saying that PreSonus were so profoundly challenged by my remarks that I spurred them into action, but it’s interesting to note that just a couple of months later, version 5.1 drops and it happens to include score printing and a few more things besides.
