Scotia reopens village offices to the public | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Shares0 SCOTIA — With Schenectady County COVID-19 numbers having improved significantly, the village of Scotia re-opened its offices to the public as of Monday. “The COVID numbers have come down significantly and we feel that it is safe and important to re-open the village offices to the public,” village officials announced on Monday. “Masks and social distancing will be required, so we still encourage you to transact your village business by website, telephone or mail, but we will be here to help you in person if you need it.” The offices were closed in January when COVID infection numbers were on the rise, and shortly after the village mailed out 4,000 water/sewer bills. Traditionally, many residents have paid those bills in person, and village officials wanted to discourage that. Now people can pay again at the village hall.
