The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) closed a four-mile stretch of US 97A just north of Wenatchee due to fire activity for most of the day Wednesday. Travel reopened Wednesday evening to alternating one-way traffic with a pilot car. WSDOT said to expect delays in that area, and the roadway may have to be fully closed again depending on fire activity. On US 97A north of Wenatchee (MP 201-205), we are now moving traffic with a pilot car. This means LONG delays so you should use US 97 for Chelan-Wenatchee travel. This reopening is conditional and depending on fire activity we may need to close again. #RedAppleFirepic.twitter.com/Bgat061Q2Z— WSDOT East (@WSDOT_East) July 15, 2021
