The city on Wednesday started vaccinating people at one of its walk-up testing sites in South Seattle, in what could be a preview of what the city’s long-term vaccine delivery efforts could look like.
“As the demand for testing declines and demand for vaccine increases, it’s a super logical fit,” said Brian Wallace, Testing and Vaccinations Coordinator for the Seattle Fire Department.
Kelsey Nyland, strategic communications advisor for the city, said 370 people were vaccinated at the walk-up testing site at the Atlantic City Boat Ramp in South Seattle. Of those, 73 percent identified themselves as being a part of the BIPOC community, according Nyland.
