CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Santa Claus traded in his sleigh for a fire truck Friday night to spread cheer to area neighborhoods.
The Jolliest Elf took a ride with the Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Department for the first night of the 18th annual “Santa Run”.
Volunteer firefighters say they’re happy to bring people a little joy this time of year, especially now.
“I think it’s really more important than ever this year to have Santa Run, because I think people need to have a happy time. People are stressed and it’s been a hard year for a lot of people in our community and around the world so I think it’s nice to have something, even if it’s just two hours for three days in a row,” Laura Hedger, former volunteer and Santa Run coordinator, said.
