Seminole Trail Volunteer Firefighters bring âSanta Runâ to area neighborhoods Seminole Trail Volunteer Firefighters bring âSanta Runâ to area neighborhoods By Jeremy Johnson | December 18, 2020 at 9:44 PM EST - Updated December 19 at 1:47 AM CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Santa Claus traded in his sleigh for a fire truck Friday night to spread cheer to area neighborhoods. The Jolliest Elf took a ride with the Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Department for the first night of the 18th annual âSanta Runâ. Volunteer firefighters say theyâre happy to bring people a little joy this time of year, especially now. âI think itâs really more important than ever this year to have Santa Run, because I think people need to have a happy time. People are stressed and itâs been a hard year for a lot of people in our community and around the world so I think itâs nice to have something, even if itâs just two hours for three days in a row,â Laura Hedger, former volunteer and Santa Run coordinator, said.
