VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It seems many of us pay no attention to the weather until it is severe or has negatively impacted us in some way. Weather affects our safety and well-being, our family’s safety, and our pocketbooks. As the summer approaches, the potential for severe weather conditions are brought into focus, the week of April 26th – April 30th 2021 has been Severe Summer Weather Awareness Week. Severe summer storms can cause damaging winds, hail, tornadoes, wildfires, flash flooding, and more. This brings potential to cause serious property damage, injury, and even death. On Wednesday April 28th at 11:15 am, there will be a test of the Tornado Siren in Valley City. Because the National Weather Service will not directly be involved with the exercise, the simulated warning will not be broadcast through the National Weather Service all-hazards weather radio system. The Emergency Alert System (EAS) for local AM/FM radio stations and cable television providers will not be activated.
