SEVIERVILLE â Sevier County Schools are looking into a service to provide COVID-19 screenings at the schools next year for personnel and students. The Sevier County School System expects to receive about $3.9 million for COVID-19 testing through a grant of federal funds that can be used toward salaries of nurses, supplies and updating the testing area where the screenings would occur. Stephanie Huskey reported to the Sevier County Board of Education that MAKO Medical, a North Carolina-based company, has approached the system about offering the tests. âThey are interested in helping us get tests. They will train our nurses,â Huskey said.
