Sewage spill shuts down certain LA beaches to swimmers, surfers
17-million gallon sewage spill: Day 2
Beaches remain closed from El Segundo to the southern end of Playa del Rey following a 17 million gallon sewage spill. Los Angeles County Health Officer Dr. Muntu Davis tells the Board of Supervisors that an initial test indicates non-hazardous levels of bacteria in the water, but says a second test is required within a 24-hour period before beaches can safely reopen.
