“That’s more than twice the cost to license a brand new Corvette for four years,” he said.
Planeto is one of many in the motorcycle community who have objected to steadily increasing insurance rates under SGI’s Auto Fund. The current cost of motorcycle registration lies between $366 and $4,019 per year, depending on the make and model of the vehicle and its engine capacity. SGI is considering increasing this amount by 15 per cent for annual insurance premiums greater than $1,000 and increasing annual premiums by $25 to $150 for those that total $1,000 or less.
