Sheriff's Office identifies suspect arrested in south Laredo raid March 3, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail Chaires/ The Webb County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man arrested during a raid that caused the lockdown of Santo Niño Elementary in south Laredo. Authorities identified the suspect as Ernesto Chaires, 21. He was charged with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor punishable with up to 180 days in jail, a $2,000 fine or both. On Feb. 25, the Sheriff’s Office along with its SWAT team executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 2600 block of Napoleon Street. During the execution of the warrant, investigators discovered a usable quantity of marijuana inside a clear plastic bag inside the bedroom of Chaires, according to the affidavit.
