An initial group from the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry has been deployed to Shamattawa First Nation, according to public information affairs officer Lori Truscott. Brandon Sun Master Warrant Officer Clayton Nevell sorts toys dropped off for the toy drive. A multi-purpose medical assistance team from Edmonton, including nurses and medical technicians, has also been sent to the First Nation some 740 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg. The group will establish an "alternative isolation area" in a local school, Truscott said.
