It was in the Allende meteorite that Chaitanya Giri and his colleagues had been searching for graphene.
But why graphene? Here is an interesting story.
Making a wish on seeing a shooting star and believing it will come true is a popular custom — perhaps a superstition, yet harmless. But for Dr Chaitanya Giri and his co-workers — a wish on a shooting star actually came true.
It was a wish for a form of carbon — graphene.
