Shreveport YMCA and Lifeshare Helping Child Battling Leukemia I am a huge fan of the YMCA. Growing up the Y was one of the only places that we were able to go to take advantage of all the free community events. In my mind, the YMCA is driven by heroes and nothing has changed. I'm still a huge fan of the YMCA and the one right here in Shreveport is making headlines for the best reason ever. The NWLA YMCA teamed up with LifeShare Blood Center to host a blood drive to help a child in our community who desperately needs our help.
