Silich waves preliminary exam, case bound over to Circuit Court

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Sturgis man who is facing 11 charges in connection with a fatal hit and run crash in Sherwood Township waved his Branch County District Court preliminary exam on Thursday.
The case against 42-year-old Daniel Gerard Silich was bound over to Branch County Circuit Court where an arraignment was scheduled for July 19.
Among the charges Silich is facing is second degree murder in connection with a hit and run crash on April 5 which led to the death of 13-year-old Landen Risner.
Risner was among three children who were struck while they were riding their bikes in the area of Ralston and Arney Roads near their Sherwood Township home.
