NEW DELHI: Seeking to end speculation over forming a nine-member committee of farmer representatives to hold talks with the Centre, their umbrella outfit, Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), on Tuesday said there was no such committee and there was no any communication from the government side to hold the fresh discussions on their key demands including repeal of three central farm laws and legal guarantee to purchase at minimum support price (MSP). The Morcha also insisted on its plan to send a team of farmer leaders to poll-bound states including West Bengal and Assam for appealing voters not to vote for the BJP in the Assembly polls. This programme will begin in West Bengal on March 12. There will be ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ (farmers’ meeting) in Kolkata on March 12 and March 13, in Nandigram on March 13 and in Singur and Asansol on March 14.
