Article content Living in rural Ontario will be less of a drawback for local students who want the same calibre of STEM (science, technology, math) instruction as students in big cities, because of the just-opened Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII) in Port Elgin. NII officials staged a remote and virtual official public opening Feb. 23, showing off renovations that turned the former police station into space where NII will deliver on its education and outreach mandate with the ability to: broadcast out to the community; bring the community in to use the space to work on a variety of projects and programs.
