Snowmobiler hospitalized after colliding with pickup truck in Thumb area crash Updated Feb 07, 2021; Facebook Share SANILAC COUNTY, MI -- A Sandusky man has been hospitalized after being by a pickup truck while driving a snowmobile, police said. Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 911 call at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 describing the personal injury traffic crash on Sanilac Road near Townline Road in Moore Township, just west of Sandusky. Upon arrival, deputies learned the 35-year-old snowmobile driver lost control of the 2013 Polaris Snowmobile after the throttle got stuck, according to a Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office news release. He entered the roadway into the path of a westbound 2003 Sierra pickup truck. The 18-year-old Sandusky man driving the pickup truck was unable to avoid a collision with the snowmobile, police said.
