MICHAEL NEEMANN RECEIVED QUITE THE SURPRISE WHEN HE DECIDED TO LOOK UP THE STATUS OF HIS STIMULUS CHECK. >> MY WIFE WENT AND LOOKED AND IT SHOWED OUR FIRST STIMULUS CHECK AND THE ACCOUNT IT WENT TO AND THE SECOND ONE AND WHERE THAT WENT TO. AND IT’S NOT EVEN CLOSE TO OUR ACCOUNT NUMBER. >> THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO LISA SABER. >> IT CAME UP WITH TWO BOXES. THE FIRST BOX SHOWED THE FIRST STIMULUS PAYMENT AND THAT IT WENT INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT. WHICH WAS THE CORRECT NUMBER. THEN THERE WAS A SECOND BOX SAID THE SECOND ONE WENT INTO THIS ACCOUNT NUMBER. >> BUT IT WAS THE WRONG ACCOUNT. AFTER FAILED ATTEMPTS TO REACH THE IRS, SHE CONTACTED A REPRESENTATIVE FROM H&R BLOCK- WHICH PREPARED HER TAXES LAST YEAR. >> WHEN YOU FILE WITH THEM AND THEY TAKE THE SERVICE OUT WHEN YOU FILE, WHATEVER BANK THAT THEY USE IS WHERE THE MONEY GOT DEPOSITED TO. >> LISA SAYS SHE WAS TOLD HER CHECK WILL EITHER BE CUT BY THAT BANK OR SENT BACK TO THE IRS BEFORE IT MAKES ITS WAY TO HER. >> SO I THINK THE FRUSTRATING THING IS, THERE’S NOTHING WE CAN DO. >> LISA AND MICHAEL ARE NOT ALONE. H&R BLOCK TOOK TO SOCIAL MEDIA, WRITING THE IRS GET MY PAYMENT WEBSITE MAY DISPLAY AN ACCOUNT NUMBER YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE. IF YOU TOOK A REFUND TRANSFER, IT MAY BE REFLECTING THAT ACCOUNT NUMBER.
