SOUTH BEND â South Bend schools is celebrating the launch of its participation in a state certification program for high school health sciences instruction. South Bendâs health sciences program, housed at Clay High School, is joining the State Earn and Learn, or SEAL, certification program, which allows high school students to directly enter the workforce with internship, job shadowing or other hands-on experience. The SEAL certification program is supported through federal funding. During the pandemic, South Bend students have earned this experience through partnerships with local assisted living organizations like Creekside Village, Home Instead home care and Grand Emerald Place, according to a district news release.
