Apr 23, 2021 Beginning at 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 25, 2021, South Main Street in Marion, between Church Street and Center Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction permanently and parking will become diagonal on that section of South Main Street. On April 23rd, Assistant City Engineer, Scott Bishop announced the change with this press release: "STREET CLOSING: South Main Street, between Church Street and Center Street will be closed from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 25, 2021. This section of street will be restriped for parking changes and will be reduced to one lane in each direction permanently. Drivers should be aware of this and other permanent changes to the traffic pattern near this location."
