Southern Alberta Summer Games cancelled for second year in a row

The 2021 Southern Alberta Summer Games have been cancelled for the second consecutive year.
The Southern Alberta Recreation Association announced Feb. 12 that this year’s Southern Alberta Summer Games, scheduled to take place in July in Medicine Hat, will not go ahead due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 event, which was to take place in Raymond, was also cancelled due to the pandemic.
Bonnie Ellis, the Town of Vulcan’s community services manager, said last week that the news about the 2021 Games is “really unfortunate” as the event is a great way for people to start their summer.
