SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – The Sparta School District is transitioning into a new instruction model that allows in-person learning full-time for 7th through 12th-grade students. The district said Tuesday families will be able to decide whether they want their children to continue using the hybrid model, come in four to five days a week, or opt into Sparta’s Virtual Learning Academy. The superintendent said this new model will let families decide what they think is best. “Sparta is not so different from other communities in that there is a real divide between people that are passionate that their kids should be in school five days and people that are passionate that if it’s safer not to be in the building, they shouldn’t be in the building,” said the Superintendent Dr. Amy Van Deuren.
