Spring Health Observances: Celebrating Hospital Week, Nurses Day and Nurses Week 2021

You don’t need hospital or nursing care every day, but when you do, it’s reassuring to know that both are readily available.
From May 6-12, UHS will honor its nurses during National Nurses Week. The celebration begins with National Nurses Day on May 6 and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), the founder of modern nursing. Nurses are the front line in health care – providing expert clinical care and physical and emotional support to patients and families in inpatient and outpatient settings. Nurses are the heart and soul of UHS. 2021 represents the 67th year of a nationally-recognized Nurses Week celebration.
