View Comments The new Costco wholesale and retail facility is set to open in August, according to the Costco website. The 160,000-square-foot wholesale and retail facility and fueling station is located on the southeast corner of U.S. 65 and Chestnut Expressway. It will employ at least 125 people earning an average of around $53,000 a year, according to an earlier News-Leader report. City Councilman Richard Ollis last year called the project a "bellwether" for the city's future growth. "I look forward to not only the arrival of Costco, which I think is a big deal for our community," Ollis had said, "but also sets us up for future expansion and future businesses to locate as well."
