Police say they are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon at a northeast Springfield convenience store. Jasmine Bailey, spokeswoman for the Springfield Police Department, said one person was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting at the Kum & Go on East Kearney Street near Highway 65. Following the shooting, there was a large police presence at the nearby Welcome Inn motel. Bailey said police responded to that area in search of the suspect from the shooting.
