Springfield Rescue Mission cancels meal, toy distributions

SPRINGFIELD — Citing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, the Springfield Rescue Mission has canceled a meal pickup and toy distribution event planned for Wednesday, Dec. 23.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding during this uncertain time of COVID-19 and we pray for the health and safety of those in our local area and for those throughout the world,” the organization said in a statement.
The organization is suspending its normal operations until Jan. 4, 2021. No clothing or food donations will be accepted until after that date.
