India is the 60th country to approve the use of Sputnik V against coronavirus. NEW DELHI: Dr Reddy's Laboratories on Tuesday said that it has received permission from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) to import Sputnik vaccine into India for restricted use in emergency situations. The permission is subject to provisions of New Drug and Clinical Trials Rules 2019 under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Dr Reddy's Labs co-chairman and managing director GV Prasad said that with rising cases in India, vaccination is the most effective tool in the battle against Covid-19. "This will enable us to contribute to our nation's effort of vaccinating a significant proportion of our population."
