The Eastern Ontario Health Unit confirmed Friday that four recently disclosed COVID-19 cases have been confirmed as positive as variants of concern.
All positive COVID-19 results are being screened by Public Health Ontario for the known variants, and PHO informed the health unit Friday— medical officer of health Dr. Paul Roumeliotis had already advised in his Thursday media briefing of the potential cases. The specific variants are not yet known.
