Since returning from winter break Jan. 4, the St. Johns County School District has seen an overall increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and quarantines among both staff and students. According to Kyle Dresback, associate superintendent for student support services, the fact that case levels are trending up is not particularly surprising. "Everyone is coming off break," Dresback said in an interview with The Record Wednesday. "We are seeing what we saw after Thanksgiving break, that after people and families have been together the numbers are going to go up. … I think it's a reflection of what we're seeing in the county and across the state."
