Star linebacker Snowden declaring for 2021 NFL draft Photo: WINA CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – In a not-very-surprising tweet, University of Virginia football star linebacker Charles Snowden Sunday evening said he would be forgoing his final year of NCAA eligibility and declare for the 2021 NFL draft. The tweet describes his gratitude to the coaching staff and UVa. The Silver Spring, MD native thanks the city of Charlottesville, “Wahoo nation” for accepting and encouraging him and allowing him to make Charlottesville his second home. Snowden was playing his fourth year when he badly broke an ankle in a November 21st game at Scott Stadium in the Hoos’ win over Abilene Christian. Because the NCAA is not counting this year against eligibility, all of the Hoos’ fourth-years have an option to stay or move on… and Coach Bronco Mendenhall in a press conference last week said he’d like to hear from all of them by today (Dec. 21) about what they want to do.
